    The Centre is again taking part in the MRC Festival of Medical Research in 2017, which is taking place from 17-25 June. During the festival, MRC funded units, centres and institutes will be showcasing and discussing their work through events and activities around the UK and beyond.

    We are organising an event for the evening of Monday 19 June, to be held at the Deptford Lounge from 6-8pm.

    Drop in to our evening of fun interactive activities and talks that will give you a chance to learn more about how air quality can affect your health. Find out how you could be breathing cleaner air, and learn how traffic noise and other pollutants might also be having an effect. We will also have several short talks:

    • Air pollution in London: Gary Fuller
    • Air pollution in Deptford – 1661 – 2017: Ian Mudway
    • Perspectives from China: Ben Barratt

  • Current Trends in Nanotoxicology: Implications for Environmental & Human Health Symposium

    Distinguished scientists in the field of nanotoxicology are invited to a symposium to be held in Plymouth on 2 June 2017.

    Current Trends in Nanotoxicology:  Implications for Environmental & Human Health will be a series of sessions held on Friday 2 June at Plymouth University, with a ‘Welcome’ event on the evening of Thursday 1 June.

    The symposium will be in collaboration with NERC, UKEMS and Plymouth University, and as well as experienced and senior scientists speaking at the event, young scientists are encouraged to actively participate and present their work.

    The deadline to submit an abstract for a poster presentation is 18 April.

    The registration deadline is Friday 12 May.

    There is no registration fee to participate in this symposium but participation is restricted to 60 delegates on a ‘first-come-first-served’ basis.
